Douglas College Sport Science students and faculty off to national conference

A group of Sport Science students, faculty and staff from Douglas College is getting ready to attend a national student leadership conference.

The Physical Health and Education Canada Student Leadership Conference takes place Sept. 17-21 in Bancroft, Ontario.

The conference gives post-secondary students in the physical or health education fields the opportunity to meet their peers and develop leadership skills and experience through a variety of activities.

Here's what some of the Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching students have to say about taking part in the conference:

Lisa Trulson: "I feel honoured to be attending the PHE Leadership Conference in Ontario with my peers from BPEC. I am excited about the opportunity to meet fellow students from around Canada who are interested in the same avenues of study as well as learning from the mentors' experienced in the field. I think this will be a great chance to connect and expand our comfort zones by stepping out of them."

Jessie Trottier: "I am excited to meet new people from all over the country and learn how to be the leader I know I can be. I'm looking forward to the outdoors and experiencing Ontario in the Fall."
