Douglas College celebrates National Aboriginal Day

A member of the Git Hayetsk Dancers performs at National Aboriginal Day last year at the New West Campus.
Next Thursday is National Aboriginal Day, a celebration of the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and M├ętis peoples in Canada.

Douglas College is set to celebrate in grand style, so save the dates - Thursday, June 21 at New West and Friday, June 22 at Coquitlam.

Presented by Aboriginal Student Services, the events include screenings of short films on Aboriginal culture and issues, a bannock and chowder lunch, a bannock-making workshop, a performance by the Git Hayetsk Dancers, presentations on Aboriginal spirituality and culture, issues and education, and more!
