B.C. government unveils new app at Douglas College

Michael de Jong, Health Minister, speaks to Douglas College students about the provincial government's new app for locating health services.

The B.C. government unveiled a new app at Douglas College yesterday that lets users find a range of health services from anywhere around the province.

More than 100 Douglas students gathered at the Coquitlam Campus to learn about the BC Health Service Locator app, presented by Michael de Jong, Health Minister, and Margaret MacDiarmid, Minister of Labour, Citizen's Services and Open Government.

The app, designed to help users find the closest walk-in clinic, emergency department, after-hours pharmacy or immunization clinic, is available through the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod. A version for the BlackBerry and Android systems is coming soon, says de Jong.

To download the free app, visit the iTunes App Store.
