Douglas College Self Employment grad offers 'voluntours'

Chris Buckshaw offers his clients vacations with purpose.
Self Employment Program grad Chris Buckshaw has opened a tourism business with a twist. His concept is, "Change your life and the lives of others. Volunteer on your vacation this year."

A far cry from promoting resorts and all-inclusive deals, Chris's company, El Camino VolunTours, offers travellers the chance to volunteer in the developing world. Presently El Camino is offering 10- to 14-day trips to Central America to work on a variety of projects. Chris's plan is to expand into South America, Africa, Southeast Asia and India.

Travellers aren't the only ones noticing El Camino. The business will be mentioned in the next issue of Sophisticated Living Magazine. In the meantime, check out Chris's interview with jiggy.tv and a story about him and his biz in the Delta Optimist.
