myDouglas changes for students

myDouglas is an important portal for many students. In an effort to streamline the site and improve usability, the myDouglas steering committee has made some changes to the layout and design, which will go live April 30, 2011:

Home page
- Self-service login has been moved to the left (was originally on the far right)
- Feature photo and caption has been removed
- Bookmarks feature (links to the software company) has been removed

new myDouglas home tab layout

“myCourses” is renamed “Courses”

“myCampus” tab becomes “Student Life” tab
- includes links to Douglas Students’ Union, Centre for Campus Life, etc.

new “Academic Support” tab
- includes information on student resources like online tutoring, Psychology labs, Library, etc.

If you have questions or comments about the update, email myDouglas Steering Committee chair Paul O’Connor.

  1. Who knew that myDouglas merited a steering committee?

  2. My trouble isn't with the layout of myDouglas. You already have options to change layout and move certain features to one side or another. What bothers me is that the whole framework seems antiquated. Why not add more integration with the Douglas website and blog? Also, the Courses tab and Blackboard need an overhaul. They're not very user-friendly.
