Monday, Feb 21

Interested in teaching as a career? What do you need to become a teacher in BC? SFU's PDP Coordinator, Diane Kelso, will discuss the teaching program at SFU and the admission requirements for PDP.

Canada as a Refuge from Militarism? Brown Bag Lunch Forum

The Douglas College Institute for Ethics and Global Justice presents a public brown bag lunch forum: Canada as Refuge from Militarism? The politics of providing sanctuary to American war resisters. For more info, see doug: the community blog.

Don't miss the annual Alumni Association Winter Marketplace! Come check out the vendors selling pottery, African art, jewelry, clothing, native art and crafts and much more. Money raised goes to support students in need. It's an excellent opportunity to stock up on interesting gifts while supporting our students and local craftspeople.

Work Prep Boot Camp

Are you graduating soon, participating in Co-op or looking for part-time employment? Knowledgeable employers like Deloitte, Canada Revenue Agency, Red Label Communications and others will provide information and advice to get you an interview, prepare for those first weeks on the job and what you should wear. The Douglas College Psychology Society has invited several professionals to speak about their jobs in fields that students with psychology degrees can go into. Royals Rumble
New Westminster Campus (main gym)

You won’t want to miss the biggest REC event this semester. For 3 hours of mayhem on
Feb 25th, your team of maximum 10 students or staff will be in for an afternoon of sports
that you won’t forget. Teams will play a mini-tournament in 5 sporting activities and the

Year of Science: Stinks and Bangs
New Westminster Campus (Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre)
1-2pm
Join the Science in Action team from Simon Fraser University for the Scientacular Show. Watch water turn into wine and milk, hear big bangs with all sorts of balloons popping, see a tennis cannon ball demonstration, watch as colourful solutions magically change colour on their own, and much, much more.
