Farewell, Disney interns

By Julia Collin, Post Degree Diploma in Marketing

On Wednesday, December 16, the Douglas College Business Association (DCBA) hosted an event to say farewell to two Douglas College students who will be flying off to California in the New Year for the Disney Internship.

Students mingled with faculty for an evening of wine and great conversation. Bailey Chambers (Marketing Management) and Damian Craig (Bachelor of Business Administration) will be working at the Walt Disney World Resort. They also get the great opportunity to attend the University of California during their six-month exchange.

Attendees also had a chance to talk with the president of Douglas College, Scott McAlpine, who attended the event. It was such a great experience to get to know the man at the top of it all here at Douglas College.

I think Bailey’s and Damian’s parents, who attended the small event, had a huge weight lifted off of their shoulders as they were reassured by the faculty that their children were in good hands with Douglas College. The DCBA is even losing one of its own members, Bailey. As the event progressed it was clear that these two students will surely be missed, but I think that everyone would agree that they are about to embark on an amazing adventure in the “Happiest Place on Earth”!
